BREAKING: Court forces INEC to add Bayelsa units in poll

The Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to include omitted units in supplementary election scheduled on Saturday for Brass Constituency 1.

The court presided over by Justice E. Inyang made the order in a motion ex parte filed by Preye Brodrick and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against INEC.

The court ruled that INEC should conduct supplementary elections in polling units 11-16; units 1-10 and 17 to 21 of Ward 6 in Brass Constituency 1 of the state on March 23 or any other day determined by the defendant (INEC).…

BREAKING: Court stops INEC from collating Bauchi results

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to discontinue collation and announcement of Bauchi governorship results.

Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the order following an ex parte application filed by the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar.

BREAKING: Delta suspends teacher over Success’s viral video

The Delta State government has suspended the headmistress of Okotie-Eboh Primary School 1, Sapele Local Government of the state, Mrs. Vero Igbigwe.

She was suspended following the viral video where little Success Adegor was sent home over her parents’ failure to pay her examination levies.

Igbigwe was suspended on Monday when the Delta State Commissioner for Education, Barr. Chiedu Ebie visited the school.

The head teacher, according to the commissioner, could not explain the alleged illegal collection of examination levies from the school students.

BREAKING: Kwara APC’s AbdulRazaq wins own polling unit

Kwara APC governorship candidate Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq has won his Idigba polling unit 004 of Adewole Ward with a landslide.

AbdulRazaq polled 592 votes as against PDP’s 80, according to the official result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The APC also won the House of Assembly election with 573 votes as against PDP’s 80.

BREAKING: Oyo: Ajimobi loses polling unit to PDP

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has lost his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

Mr Ajimobi, who lost the National Assembly election to return to the Senate two weeks ago, cast his vote at about 1.10 pm at Oluyole Community Grammar School, Oluyole, Ibadan.

APC polled 112 while PDP polled 149 in the governorship election.

BREAKING: Ballot box snatcher shot dead in Ukanafun

Soldiers monitoring the conduct of election in Ukanafun have killed a young man as he made away with ballot box at a polling unit in Ikot Udo Ossiom village, Ukanafun council of Akwa Ibom state.

The incident occurred few hours ago throw the area into mourning.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that the young man had attempted to snatch the ballot in the morning immediately it arrived from INEC but was prevented by soldiers guiding the polling unit.

Continuing, Mrs. Elijah said the victim reinforced and returned to the unit to snatch the ballot the second time.

BREAKING: Guber election: Sanwo-Olu wins polling unit

The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State has won the elections at his Lateef Jakande/Femi Okunnu Ward 019 polling unit in Ikoyi, Lagos by a landslide.

Sanwo-Olu scored 124 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s Jimi Agbaje, who scored 26 votes.

BREAKING: Agbaje’s running mate loses booth to Sanwo-Olu

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oluyemisi Haleemat Busari, has lost her polling unit to his All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Busari polled 15 votes against Sanwo-Olu’s 40 at the 021 polling unit of Ward A, Unit 021 in Adekunle Anglican Primary School, Makoko, Lagos a few metres from her residence at Denny Estate.

In the House of Assembly, APC polled 41 against PDP’S 13.

She and her husband voted at the unit several hours earlier, some minutes after 11.am.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed claims that the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele has been sacked.

Responding to enquiries from The Nation on Monday, the Director Corporate Communications of the CBN Mr. Isaac Okorafor told The Nation that “the governor is in his office working. I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Breaking: Supreme Court to decide Onnoghen’s fate May 17

The Supreme Court has fixed judgment for May 17 this year in a suit by Cross River State Government seeking to set aside the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.

A seven-man panel of the court, led by Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour fixed the date on Thursday after taking arguments from lawyer to parties.
