Minimum Wage: Govt Begins Payment January

The Niger State Government will commence the payment of the new National Minimum Wage this January.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello made this disclosure on Tuesday when he received Chairmen of the 25 Local Government Areas.

He said that a committee has been set up already and considerable progress has been made in an ongoing negotiation to begin the implementation of the new minimum wage.

Plateau Begins Expansion Of Jos

The Plateau Government has approved the creation of seven new layouts to expand the Jos metropolis, the State Commissioner of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Mr Yakubu Datti, has said.

Dati, who disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Jos, said the various layouts would enhance town planning at different phases.

He said that the layouts would also enable the ministry to enforce town planning regulations and maintain the aesthetic value of the metropolis.

Minimum Wage: Gombe Begins Preparation For Implementation

Gombe has called on workers in the state to be calm and patient as the governor is working to setup a team that will engage labour leaders on the implementation of the new national minimum wage.

The Federal Government has begun remodelling of grazing reserves into ranches in seven states as part of efforts to transform and modernise the country’s livestock industry.

The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE), Prof. Bashir Usman, made this known on Tuesday in Zaria at the opening of a three-day capacity building workshop on the remodelling of grazing reserves into ranches.

Rivers State Begins Payment Of ₦15,000 To Corpers

Rivers State government have started paying Corps Members posted to the state ₦15,000, Nyscinfo.com correspondent, Comrade Nnadi Goodluck reports.

The Corps Member serving in the Public sector of the state are paid ₦15,000, whilst those serving in the private are paid ₦10,000.

With this update, Rivers State has overtaken Anambra State as the highest paying state for Corps Members.

PTAD Begins Verification Of 7,000 Retirees In FCT

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) said it has commenced the verification of about 7,000 retirees in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Executive Secretary of PTAD, Chioma Ejikeme, who disclosed this recently in Abuja said the verification was going on simultaneously in the three centres in the FCT.

She noted that those expected to partake in the exercise are retirees from the defunct Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL), and its mobile arm, MTEL, and the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

Others include both academic and non-academic staff of federal universities.
