A Legal icon, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) has said that he would speak about the judgement review sought at the Supreme Court by the All Progressives Congress Governor-elect in Bayelsa State, Chief David Lyon, at the appropriate time.

Olanipekun, who was the head of the legal team for Lyon, who sought review of the judgement earlier delivered against the APC, said he did no wrong by his action.

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state, at a thanksgiving marking his Supreme Court triumph, said he will constitute his cabinet “in the next three months”.

An Abuja Area Court has ordered the Department of State Security (DSS) to investigate a case of forgery filed against the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has ruled out the demand for a fresh governorship election in Bayelsa State by the All Progressives Congress.

INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, on Sunday, said the commission had concluded its work on the Bayelsa State governorship poll on Friday when Certificate of Return was issued to Douye Diri.

Some appointees of Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, on Tuesday, barricaded the entrance to the Government House in protest of non payment of salaries.

The appointees, who head the 24 Rural Development Areas (RDAs), assumed office on October 15, 2019. They say the protest was to demand their December 2019 and January 2020 salaries.
