UNICEF, EU Support Healthcare In Bauchi With $1.8M

The Bauchi Field Office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the European Union, has distributed motorcycles worth $1.856 million to 323 PHCs.

They also provided a mobile storage unit worth $14,000, built capacity of 3500 health workers on different primary healthcare services, as well as provided medical supplies, equipment to boost healthcare in Bauchi State.

UNICEF has also supported the delivery of healthcare to 144 hard-to-reach settlements in nine local government areas using 9mobile outreach teams and provided outreach services through 600 Community Resource Persons (CORPs).

Lawyers query timing of Bauchi Governor-Elect’s arraignment

A group, Body of Bauchi Lawyers of Conscience (BOBOLAC), has faulted the failed arrangement of Bauchi Governor- Elect, Bala Mohammed by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Monday before the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Maitama in Abuja over alleged failure to declare his assets.

The group described the EFCC’s action as a threat to democracy, alleging foul play in the timing of the arraignment which is a month before the Governor- Elect’s inauguration on May 29.

Bauchi Governor-elect promises to run inclusive government

The Bauchi State Governor elect, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has pledged to run an inclusive and participatory government.

Mohammed made the pledge in a special broadcast shortly after he was declared winner of Bauchi Governorship Election at the end of collation of results from Tafawa Balewa LGA on Monday.
