Saudi Shooter Kills Three In US Navy Base Attack: Media

A Saudi military trainee opened fire on Friday at a US naval base, killing three people before being shot dead by police, local media and officials said.

The shooting, which took place at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida, left seven people injured including two sheriff’s deputies who responded to the attack, one of whom was shot in the knee, the other in the arm.

CNN reported that the shooter was in the military of Saudi Arabia — the same nationality as 15 of the 19 men involved in the 9/11 attacks, some of whom attended flight school in Florida.…

Hiroshima Survivors Tell Pope Of Attack ‘Hell’

Survivors of the nuclear attack on Hiroshima told Pope Francis on Sunday of the “scene of hell” after the bombing, as the pontiff hit out against the use of the weapons.

The pope began his four-day trip to Japan with stops in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, where he paid tribute to those affected by the two bombs dropped by US forces in 1945 at the end of World War II.

Robbers Attack UBA In Ekiti, Policeman, Girl Killed (Photo)

A police officer attached to a branch of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Oye-Ekiti has been shot dead in a robbery attack on Thursday.

A girl, believed to be about five years old, was also killed by the gunmen while on her way back from school.

The gunmen made away with money from the bank’s vault and stole from the customers.

PDP Berates APC For Attack On Makinde, Musa Wada

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) for sending armed thugs to invade the venue of the meeting of its leaders, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the PDP candidate, Engr. Musa Wada, in Lokoja.

The party said in a statement by Kola Ologbondiyan, the National Publicity Secretary that several hooded APC thugs, armed with automatic rifles and other dangerous weapons, invaded the venue of the meeting which had Governor Makinde, Wada, his running mate, Hon. Samuel Aro, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, as well as other party chieftains in attendance.

Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde and Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday’s election in Kogi state, Musa Wada on Friday escaped being whisked away by masked gunmen, who attacked the Suitorial Hotel where they were lodged.

The gunmen, dressed in police uniforms and bullet proof masks, were said to have arrived the hotel at about 12.50 pm with some of them scaling the fence to gain access.

A “terrorist attack” on a military post in strife-torn northeastern Mali has left 49 soldiers dead, the army said Saturday, revising downward an earlier death toll.
The assault on Friday at Indelimane, in the Menaka region, close to the border with Niger, was one of the deadliest strikes against Mali’s military in a region wracked by Islamist violence.
