ASUU Strike Boycott: UNIBEN Reacts To Alleged Resumption

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has come out to openly deny all the speculations that had posited that it has backed out of the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU strike.

The tertiary Institution in a statement on Wednesday by its ASUU branch Chairman, Dr. Ray Chikogu, reiterated that the chapter was irrevocably committed to executing the strike to a logical conclusion.

While reacting to the lingering ASUU strike, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has declared that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government cannot borrow to settle the striking university lecturers while reiterating that they are making it look like they are the only ones in the country.

Stop Delaying Children’s Progress – Parents To ASUU

As the effetcs of the ASUU strike wanes on, some parents in Enugu State have called on the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to end the union’s prolonged strike and stop delaying students’ progress.

The parents made the call on Thursday in Enugu.

Some of them had reiterated that they were sad and pained as their children sat idly at home while their peers in private universities were making progress in school.
