Over the past three decades, active calls to politically restructure Nigeria away from the structure bequeathed to her by the military has continued to grow and gain traction. The agitation has seen many geo-cultural groups, strong-willed individuals, geo-political associations, and even religious institutions join the call to craft a new roadmap as the current structure is assumed to be unsustainable.

Interestingly, southern Nigeria has seen more individuals and groups who believe in restructuring, and this has made their Northern counterparts who are on the other end of the dichotomy not only jittery, but full of suspicion; fearing the unknown.

Gambari: Arewa Attacks Fani-Kayode On Islamisation Speech

The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, AYCF, has attacked former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode over comment that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari was appointed to ensure the Islamization of Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode had attacked Buhari for appointing Gambari, saying this was the first time in the history of Nigeria that the nation would have a Fulani President and a Chief of Staff.

Boko Haram: No True Muslim Kills For God – Arewa Forum

The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has declared that no true Muslim would desecrate Islam by killing to satisfy God.

ACF Secretary-General, Anthony Sani made the remark in response to President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent remark that 90 per cent of Boko Haram victims are Muslims and not Christians.

2023 Is Igbo’s Turn – Ohanaeze Reacts To Arewa Forum

The apex Igbo socio-political organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Wednesday rubbished remarks by Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, on Igbo Presidency.

In a chat with THISDAY, Ohanaeze’s Deputy spokesperson, Chuks Ibegbu insisted that those agitating for Biafra like the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, can’t stop the push for Igbo presidency in 2023.

ACF Secretary-General, Anthony Sani, had warned that Nigerians would be scared to elect a President from the Southeast if they are seen to be agitating for secession from Nigeria.

2023: Arewa Youths Shop For South-South Presidency

Coalition of northern youths under the umbrella of Arewa Youths Assembly have said that they will do all that is politically required to ensure an emergency of a South-South candidate for the 2023 presidency.
