Edo PDP Slams APC Over ‘Sponsorship Of Thugs, Cultists’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) over allegation of the Edo State Government giving out appointments to thugs and cultists to disrupt the forthcoming governorship election.

In a statement in Benin yesterday by the state Publicity Secretary, Mr Chris Nehikhare, he said that the charge is an obvious display of APC desperate attempt to try to bully the people.

He said: “It is a common knowledge that the APC is the party that is populated by known thugs and brigands in the many factions that exist within it.”

Kano: Ganduje Makes New Appointments

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has approved the appointment of substantive Head of Service, in person of Hajiya Binta Lawan Ahmed.

Ahmed, until her appointment was the Permanent Secretary State Ministry of Commerce.

She replaces Dr Kabiru Shehu, who was in acting capacity, after the completion of his service years, with the state civil service, few weeks back.

Following the recent promotion of some senior officers, the Nigerian Army has released the postings and appointments of the officers to various military formations across the country.

Colonel Sagir Musa, Acting Director Army Public Relations in a statement issued on Monday indicated that, the posting which was approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai is a routine exercise carried out to reinvigorate the system for greater professional effectiveness and efficiency.
