Controversies Besiege Political Party Primaries In South-West

The race for 2023 has been shown to be a very tumultuous one as two major political parties in the South-West geo-political zone, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been painstakingly conducting their primaries which have been ridden with a lot of controversies and confusion for various elective positions ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The South West zone is made up of six States in the present federal system of government. The six states predominantly dominated by Yoruba speakers are Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti.

Buhari Never Committed To Zoning Presidency – APC Chairman

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has denied the speculation that President Muhammadu Buhari preferred the zoning of the party’s 2023 presidential ticket to the South ahead of today’s primaries.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that some reports claimed that the President had directed the selection of a standard-bearer of Southern origin during the meeting with aspirants at the State House, Abuja on Saturday.
