Alleged ₦12b diversion: EFCC faults Saraki’s claim

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday said non-confirmation of its Acting Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has no link with the current probe of former Senate President Bukolala Saraki.

The anti-graft agency faulted Saraki for alleging that his investigation by the EFCC for diverting about N12 billion Kwara State funds, among others, was due to the refusal of the Senate to confirm Magu.

It asked the ex-Senate President to allow the law to take its course instead of running from pillar to post.

The EFCC said no amount of media campaign against Magu could stop the prosecution of Saraki.…

The proposed protest followed a flyer and notice of protest which has been circulated on twitter and other social media urging Nigerians to converge for a protest march on Sunday.

Pastor Biodun was recently accused by Busola Dakolo, wife of artist Timi Dakolo of raping her when she was 17 and working as a member of the choir in his church.

The police in Anambra State have arrested members of a four-man gang for alleged kidnapping.

The suspects allegedly wore military uniforms to deceive and kidnap people.

Three of them, including a lance corporal in the Army, were wearing military uniforms and vests when they were nabbed by the police last Friday after allegedly abducting Uchenna Ezeonu in Ekwulobia, Anambra State, the police said.

The FCT police Command said it had set up a team to probe allegations of rape against some of its personnel.

The alleged rape was said to have occurred on  April 27, 2019 when some suspected commercial sex workers were raided at Caramelo Night Club by the FCTA Joint Task Team.

Some of the commercial sex workers alleged that they were harassed, molested and assaulted by some policemen.

World football governing body (FIFA) may have set the machinery in motion to probe the series of allegation of financial recklessness levelled against top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Former international, Harrison Jalla, had complained to the Investigatory Chamber of the Ethics Committee of FIFA on December 5, 2018, alleging reckless spending by some top officials of the NFF.
