Media Bill: Senators Want To Gag Nigerians – Timi Frank

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Timi Frank, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari and Senators of attempting to gag Nigerians.

He urged the diplomatic community to blacklist Nigerian Senators backing the passage of the controversial Social Media Bill.

At the public hearing on Monday, stakeholders unanimously rejected the bill.

Timi Frank, in a statement on Wednesday, urged the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK) and European Union (EU) to place visa ban on the Senators and members of their families.

APC Cancels Emergency NEC Meeting, As Discord Deepens

In a move that shows the deepening discord in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC an emergency National Executive Council meeting of the party called for 17 March, has been cancelled.

The meeting was called by Victor Giadom, deputy national secretary, who signed as acting national secretary, after the party announced Architect Waziri Bulama as the substantive secretary on Wednesday.

He has now been countermanded by three APC chieftains Babatunde Ogala (National Legal Adviser), Lanre Issa-Onilu (National Publicity Secretary), and Waziri Bulama (National Secretary).

A Legal icon, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) has said that he would speak about the judgement review sought at the Supreme Court by the All Progressives Congress Governor-elect in Bayelsa State, Chief David Lyon, at the appropriate time.

Bayelsa: INEC Rejects APC’s Request For Fresh Guber Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission has ruled out the demand for a fresh governorship election in Bayelsa State by the All Progressives Congress.

INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, on Sunday, said the commission had concluded its work on the Bayelsa State governorship poll on Friday when Certificate of Return was issued to Douye Diri.
