Akume Summoned For Insulting Tor Tiv, Churches In Benue

The Tiv Area Traditional Council has summoned the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, to appear before it over his alleged uncomplimentary and derogatory remarks against the Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse.
NAN had reported Akume made scathing and derogatory statementsΒ against the Tor Tiv, accusing him of partisanship β (tor pati) meaning king of politics.
Akume allegedly castigated the church in Benue State, calling Pentecostal denominations (where the Tor Tiv fellowships) in particular as insignificant groups who have no electoral value.
