Obasanjo Mourns Ajanaku, ‘She Persuaded Me To Contest’

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday, expressed shock over the death of his erstwhile Presidential Adviser on Women Affairs, Titilayo Ajanaku, noting that her loyalty and commitment to women affairs development was exemplary and worthy of emulation.
Obasanjo also recalled how the late erudite nursing professional joined other Nigerians to visit him in 1998 to persuade him to contest for the seat of the president.
The death of the late First chairman of Abeokuta Local Government, Ogun state was confirmed by her son, in a telephone chat with the former President early hours today.

First Nigeria Female LG Chairman Ajanaku Dies At 73

The former Presidential Adviser on Women Affairs to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dame Titilayo Ajanaku, is dead.

Ajanaku, who passed on at the age of 73 on Thursday morning, was reported have breathed her last having battled with cancer.

The deceased was until her death the Otun Iyalode of Egbaland.

The late politician, trained nurse, administrator and women leader was born on January 25, 1946 at Àgọ́-Òdo Quarters Abeokuta, Ogun State.
