In the face of a seven-month impasse between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has made known its intentions to suspend the operations at all international airports nationwide.

Jet Crashes Into Fence At Lagos Airport

A Jet in the fleet of Jedidiah Air has crashed into a fence at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

It was gathered that the aircraft, King Air 200 Jet was re-parking when it rammed into the fence at the tarmac close to a facility used by Bristow Helicopters.

The King Air 200 jet with registration number 5N-HIS is being operated by Mobil Oil Nigeria-Wings Aviation.

The accident reportedly occurred due to brake failure, which caused significant damage to the aircraft.

Enugu Speaks On Demand Of ₦500m From Airport Contractors

The Enugu State Government has denied the news making the rounds that the host community of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, which is undergoing major upgrade, demanded the sum of five hundred million naira (₦500,000.00) from the contractors handling the project.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, the state government described the news as “false, malicious and baseless”.

Aroh who stressed the commitment of the Enugu State Government to the timely and successful completion of the upgrade of the airport, stated “categorically that no such situation or incident ever occurred”.
