Gov Wike Finally Retrieves Rivers Aircraft Abandoned In Germany

Recent reports reaching the desk of Africa Daily News, New York has revealed that the Legacy 600, which is a Rivers-state owned aircraft which had been allegedly abandoned in Germany under some unclear circumstance by the preceding administration has finally been recovered and flown back to Rivers State.

Governor Nyesom Wike who had made the receipt of the aircraft which had flown into the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Tuesday had revealed that his administration had not been playing petty politics in the recovery of the aircraft.

Planes Wedged Together After Collision At Aberdeen Airport

An investigation has been launched after a collision between two planes on the tarmac at Aberdeen International Airport.

The nose of one of the aircraft ended up wedged under the engine of the other on Tuesday evening, lifting it off the ground.

No passengers were on board the Loganair jet, which was struck by the former Flybe plane.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has been informed.

Air Force Acquires 22 New Fighter Jets, More Coming

The Nigerian Air Force has acquired 22 new aircraft in the last four and half years, with another 16 due for delivery soon.

Air Force Chief, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar made this known in Ado Ekiti during a visit to Governor Kayode Fayemi.

Abubakar said the force has the capacity to ensure the security of all Nigerians.

He said the Air Force is expecting an additional Mi-17 helicopter, expected to arrive in April.

Military Aircraft With UN Soldiers Onboard Crash Lands

South African military transport aircraft with UN peacekeeping soldiers on board on Thursday was severely damaged in a crash landing in Eastern Congo, a UN spokesman reported.

Matthias Gillman, a spokesman for the UN stabilisation mission in Congo (MONUSCO) confirmed the incident.

He said that the four-engine turboprop C-130 Hercules aircraft overshot the runway while landing in Goma and burst into flames.

However, the fire was quickly put out by firefighters at the airport and the 59 passengers and eight crew members escaped unharmed, NAN reports.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority ( NCAA ) on Tuesday said it was yet to identify the airline that had a worn out aircraft tyre trending on social media
