The federal government has commissioned the refurbished United Nations building in Abuja, eight years after a car bomb explosion by Boko Haram, destroyed the building and killed at least 21 and wounded 60.

The commissioning of the building coincided with the marking of the 2019 UN Day.

British police have searched properties in Northern Ireland hours after launching a major murder investigation into the discovery of 39 dead bodies inside a truck at an industrial park near London.

Officers raided two addresses late Wednesday in County Armagh, which are believed to be linked to the truck driver, a 25-year-old man from the UK-ruled province, according to multiple reports.

Investigators have said the man — named in the media as Mo Robinson from the Northern Irish town of Portadown — was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody on Thursday.

The 344-year-old tortoise in the traditional ruler of Ogbomoso’s palace, popularly known as ‘Alagba’, has passed on.

Mr. Toyin Ajamu, the Private Secretary to Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi, Soun of Ogbomoso, confirmed this to reporters on Thursday in Ogbomoso.

The dead tortoise attracted several visitors both from Nigeria and abroad to the palace.

Ajamu said that the tortoise, whom he described as the oldest in Africa, died on Thursday during a brief illness.
