French Veteran Ribery Out For 10 Weeks After Ankle Surgery

French midfielder Franck Ribery will be sidelined for 10 weeks after undergoing surgery on his right ankle, his club Fiorentina confirmed on Saturday.

Ribery, 36, had to be helped off the pitch after a clash with Lecce midfielder Panagiotis Tachtsidis on November 30.

The veteran underwent joint stabilisation surgical treatment in Germany and it “succeeded perfectly,” the club said.

The former Bayern Munich player will return to Florence on Sunday, to begin physiotherapy treatment and in two weeks time the active work will begin.

Argentine international forward Ezequiel Lavezzi confirmed on Friday that he was retiring from playing at the age of 34, ending “the most amazing phase life has given me.”

A gunman killed himself Tuesday after shooting dead six patients at a hospital in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava, in what the premier has called “an immense tragedy”.

Young rapper Juice Wrld died at the age of 21 early Sunday after suffering a seizure at a Chicago airport, TMZ reported.

Jarad Anthony Higgins, as he was also known, was walking through Midway Airport when he experienced a “medical emergency,” an official with the Cook County medical examiner’s office told The Associated Press. TMZ reported that he had a seizure.
