Burna Boy’s South Africa Gig Meets Terrible Backlash

Nigerian rapper Burna Boy is set to perform at a concert in SA later this month after promising to never set foot in the country again. Local musicians and event organisers have objected to Nigerian rapper Burna Boy’s inclusion at an anti-xenophobic concert, claiming the star incited hatred with his comments on SA.

In a series of tweets in September, Burna Boy urged black foreigners living in SA to defend and protect themselves against xenophobic attackers. In a now deleted tweet, he also told SA rapper AKA to beef up his security, before giving him the middle finger.

How Africa Mistakes Gullibility For Spirituality

I will begin this week’s edition of #TheAlternative with a generalisation, and I ask for the forgiveness of my readers in advance. You see, a lifetime of living in Nigeria has taught me that Nigerians emote rather than we reason.

This tendency to emote is the reason African parents will not invest millions in their children’s education, but will invest millions in their wedding and their children will not invest millions to cater for their aged parents, but will invest millions in their funeral.

You honestly believe that if European and Asian leaders attend an African wedding or funeral, they …

The Russia-Africa Accords, Good Tidings For African Countries

The Russia-Africa Accords, Good Tidings For Africa

South Africa broke English hearts with a ruthless display of power rugby to seize their third Rugby World Cup in devastating fashion.

Russia is one of the world’s top hydrocarbon producers and exporters through energy giants like Gazprom, Rosneft and Lukoil.
