Nigeria To Host 2025 AFCON, Pinnick Reveals

The generalissimo of Nigerian football has revealed that the country is presently in a favourable position to host the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), if it scales all hurdles placed before it which are very surmountable.

Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick disclosed in Lagos also said that  CAF is likely to withdraw the hosting right of the 2025 AFCON from Guinea, and ‘We are putting a bid together for a co-hosting of the tournament with the Benin Republic’.

Nigeria’s billionaire businessmen Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Mr Femi Otedola have promised the Super Eagles $75,000 for every goal scored in their remaining two matches at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Victor Osimhen’s hat-trick and a goal from Chidozie Okereke against Libya handed Nigeria a slot in the U23 Africa Cup of Nations. Imama Amakpakabo’s men rallied past the Libyan 4-0 after losing the first leg 2-0 at the Ben Guerdane Stadium in Tunisia.
