No fewer than ten people have been confirmed dead and many others left displaced following flooding in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

No fewer than four persons have been confirmed dead in a clash between the Lunguda community and some settlers in Adamawa State.

The incident, which happened at Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state, was confirmed by the Lamurde Council Chairman, Bulus Daniel.

Daniel informed reporters about the death of four persons in the violent confrontation which reportedly started on Monday morning.

Shortage of Doctors, nurses, midwives and some other technical personnel has created a situation in Adamawa State in which cleaners and ward attendants now do some duties meant for such professional staff.

Gov Fintiri Hails CAN Chairman For Disclosing COVID-19 Status

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has commended the state Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Stephen Mamza, for publicly declaring his COVID-19 positive status.

Stephen Mamza who is also the Catholic Bishop of Yola announced on Sunday that he had tested positive for COVID-19, thus becoming the first prominent person in Adamawa State to publicly declare his status.

Governor Fintiri while commending Bishop Mamza’s openness said his action would spread the message to the doubting masses, against the backdrop that many people in the state still do not believe in the reality of COVID-19.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Thursday night arrested 14 Persons hidden in two trailers conveying cattle from Adamawa State to Port Harcourt.

Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to Wike said the trailers were intercepted at Rumuigbo in Obio-Akpor LGA, based on intelligence provided the governor.

There is tension in the Adamawa State capital, Yola, as workers in the state, who are currently asking for unpaid salaries even after the state government announced that they were not recognised, have perfected a plan for a street protest on Monday.
