‘Reopen Abuja-Kaduna Train Service’ – MURIC Tasks FG

In a new directive, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has come out to openly appeal to all the families of victims of train attack on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line to allow the the Federal Government of Nigeria to allow the train service on the route to resume.

Prof. Ishaq Akintola who is the MURIC Director had made this known in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has revealed that it cannot reveal some public details about the Abuja-Kaduna train abduction while assuring that it was actually working as hard as it can to secure the release of the kidnapped Abuja-Kaduna train passengers.

Bandits Attack Abuja-Kaduna Road, Abduct Many Travellers

Bandits yesterday attacked commuters along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, abducting an unspecified number of travellers and injuring many others.

The spokesman of the Kaduna Police Command Mohammed Jalige told reporters on Wednesday night that the bandits had about 4: 20 pm blocked the Audu Ogbe portion of the Highway, near Katari village.

He revealed that they intercepted some vehicles, and during the process, took some persons away to an unknown destination.

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured families of those kidnapped by bandits in the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train service of March 28 that efforts were on-going to ensure their safe return.
