2023: Stop Dividing Nigerians With Religion, Ganduje Warns

Ahead of next year’s general elections, the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has sent a warning to politicians to desist from using religion to further widen the nation’s diversity.

He made this known while speaking on Monday during the inauguration of a committee established to organise an inter-religious conference in the state.

‘Politicians should not be making utterances that create division between the two religions that would make the differences between our tribes and ethnic nationalities become wider and wider and intolerable.’

The Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria has called on Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to execute the court judgement that found a singer Yahaya Sharif-Aminu guilty of blaspheming against Prophet Muhammad.

Kano Residents Hail Ganduje Ban On Street Begging

Some Kano residents on Wednesday commended Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State for banning street begging in the State.

Ganduje gave the directive on Tuesday even as he threatened to prosecute parents of children found on the streets.

The governor said the decision was made to fully consolidate the free and compulsory primary and secondary schools education in Kano.
