Gunmen Abduct 4 Seminarians From Catholic School In Kaduna

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Wednesday night attacked the Good Shepherd Catholic Major Seminary, situated in Kakau, along Kaduna-Abuja road and made away with four seminarians.

According to the Registrar of the school, Rev Fr (Dr) Joel Usman, the incident happened between 10:30 PM and 11:00 PM on Wednesday night.

Bandits Abduct Chief Imam, 20 Others In Niger Community

Bandits on Wednesday abducted the Chief Imam of Beni Central Mosque in Munya Local Government of Niger State, Alhaji Umar Ali, and 20 others.

Reports from the area has it that the bandits are busy sacking homes of the villagers and rustling their cattle and sheep without any resistance.

It was said that apart from those kidnapped, the bandits have killed four people and injured several others with one of them hit in the head by bullet.

Gunmen Abduct Two Lecturers In Kaduna

Two lecturers have been kidnapped by gunmen in Mahuta community of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The two lecturers whose names were given as Dr. Adamu Chinoko and Dr. Umar Chinoko are said to be biological brothers, teaching at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and Kaduna Polytechnic, respectively.

It was learnt that Adamu was abducted on Thursday night and the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N2 million and a new motorcycle.

One person was reportedly killed while five others were abducted as bandits launched fresh attacks on communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Six students of a private secondary school and two of their teachers in Kakau Daji village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State were yesterday kidnapped by gunmen.

The village is located behind the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemicals Company (KRPC) in the state capital.

Confirming the incident, spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Yakubu Sabo, said the gunmen invaded the school through a porous fence in the early hours of yesterday, went straight to the female hostel and abducted six students.

Pirates off Nigeria’s oil-rich south have stormed a small oil tanker, kidnapping six sailors, the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) said on Thursday, the latest in a string of such attacks.

The Apecus, a Palau-flagged petroleum products tanker of 3,100 deadweight tonnes, was attacked on Friday as it was anchored off Bonny Island, south of oil hub of Port Harcourt, according to the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre.
