Four-Year Doping Ban For Olympic Women’s Steeple Champion

Olympic 3000m steeplechase champion Ruth Jebet has been banned for four years after testing positive for banned blood booster EPO, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced Wednesday.

Hit with a provisional ban in 2018 after a positive test on December 1 2017, the Kenyan-born Bahraini has the right to appeal the four-year suspension.

As it stands the 23-year-old will not be able to defend her title at the July 24-August 9 Olympics in Tokyo.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, 65, has been rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke, newspapers in her native Madeira reported today.

According to reports, she was admitted to Dr Nelio Mendonca Hospital at about 5a.m today.

Local media said the 65 year-old mother of four is ‘conscious and stable.’ She is due to undergo new tests in the next few hours to determine her state of health.

One local report said she has suffered an ischemic stroke, caused by a blood clot that blocks or plugs a blood vessel in the brain.’

Leeds United goalkeeper, Kiko Casilla has been banned from eight matches and fined £60,000 after being found guilty of racially abusing Charlton Athletic forward, Jonathan Leko.

Football Association independent regulatory commission found Casilla guilty, even after he denied the charge.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has refused to rule out postponing international football matches in response to the escalating global threat of the coronavirus.
