UEFA Unveils Champions League Quarter-Finals Draw

UEFA on Friday concluded the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals.

One of the highlights of the draw held at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland was that the four ties postponed in March because of COVID-19 will be played in August

The matches will played at the host club’s home stadium.

Four quarter-finalists were confirmed before the COVID-19 pandemic suspended the season.

Lazio’s Patric was sent off for biting late on in a loss at Lecce that dealt a massive blow to their title hopes.

Defender Patric was shown a straight red card for biting Lecce’s Giulio Donati on the arm in injury time.

Felipe Caicedo had scored a fifth-minute opener for the visitors but Khouma Babacar headed in Filippo Falco’s cross to level on 30 minutes.

FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has called off negotiations over renewing his contract with the club, according to a report by Spanish radio station Cadena Ser on Friday.

Dubbed the “Diamond in the Desert,” the 40,000-seat ground is one of eight stadiums to be used in the competition.

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has poured encomiums on former Super Eagles star, Odion Ighalo following his performance for the side on Saturday.

American basketball player, Vince Carter has announced his retirement after a 22-year career spanning four decades.

The 43-year-old NBA player announced his retirement on his podcast, confirming a decision he made last year when he re-signed with the Atlanta Hawks.

Carter ranks 19th all-time scoring with 25,728 points. He won the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest with a spectacular array of dunks.
