APC Crisis: Plot To Unseat Adamu Thickens

The crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a new turn, after some elements in the party plotted to overthrow Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the party recently.
Africa Daily News, New York reports that ahead of the 2023 elections, tension had emanated from the party due to leadership disagreements.
Recall that on March 26, Senator Adamu was declared as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the convention set aside to vote members of the APC National Working Committee, NWC.

Allow 7m Nigerians to Complete Voter Reg, SERAP Warns INEC

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu to as a matter of urgency reopen voters’ registration to allow no fewer than seven million Nigerians that had already started their registration online to complete the process.

In a letter dated August 13, 2022, and signed by its deputy director, Kolawole Oluwadare, SERAP issued the demand and threatened to take the commission to court if the demand is not complied with within seven days.

An organisation identified as the Yoruba Self-Determined (YSDM), has written a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari asking for a ‘peaceful break away’ of the Yoruba tribe from the country Nigeria.
