The governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong has once again apologised to the Catholic Bishops over his recent comment on Pope Francis which generated quite a lot of outrage among Nigerians.
He gave this apology while speaking at the opening Mass for the 2022 General Assembly of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos, on Tuesday.

The Nigerian government on has claimed that it spent at least ₦24 billion on different empowerment and poverty reduction schemes in the country on its National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) in Sokoto State.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouk, made this claim on Tuesday while speaking at the inauguration of disbursement of Cash Grant to Vulnerable Groups (GVG) in the state.
Farouk, who was represented by the National Coordinator of NSIP, Dr Umar Bindir, asserted that under President Muhammad Buhari administration effective schemes have been designed to lift vulnerable Nigerians.

Reports reaching Africa Daily News, New York has it the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of no fewer than 120 citizens for alleged illegal oil theft.
The anti-graft agency had confirmed that it had carried out a joint operation with personnel of the 6 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The apprehended suspects were accused of illegally refining stolen petroleum products and economic sabotage.
They were caught after offloading oil into vehicles at the waterfront for distribution within and outside Rivers State.
