Southern Kaduna blasts El-Rufai for bias, arrest of leader

Adara Community has lambasted Kaduna State Government for what it called ‘failure to arrest the criminals responsible for killings in six consecutive attacks’ on villages in Kajuru and Kachia local government areas.

The community under the auspices of Adara Development Association (ADA) lamented despite six attacks on different Adara villages with hundreds killed and thousands displaced, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has arrested their ‘sons’, while none of ‘the killers’ has been arrested.

President Trump tweets

The President found a lot to be upset about over the weekend, and he took to Twitter to make sure everyone knew.

In a long series of tweets, Trump criticized the late Sen. John McCain, mused about a government inquiry into “Saturday Night Live,” and demanded that Fox News bring back host Jeanine Pirro. Pirro, whose regular show did not air Saturday, was reportedly suspended by the network after her widely-criticized comments about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

Court dismisses Delta APC executive committee

A Federal High Court sitting in Asaba has sacked the Prophet Jones Erue-led executive council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.

The court upheld the Chief Cyril Ogodo-led executive council as the authentic State APC executive body.

Although, Chief Ogodo was sworn in as the state chairman of the party by the former APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, his successor, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, inaugurated the Erue body.

The court also sacked ward and local government executives in the Erue-led executive and upheld the Ogodo wards and local government executives.

APC, PDP prepare for Adamawa supplementary election

Victory in the governorship election may go either way in Adamawa State between the All progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Parry (PDP).

The outcome could hardly be predicted, as all factors place both parties and their candidates on equal rating.

The APC is the government in power, but the PDP had governed the state previousely and had retained popularity in many communities as the APC. A former Governor of Ogun State, and Director-General of Abubakar Atiku Campaign Organisation , Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Saturday announced his departure from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter he wrote to the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus. Aide confirms alleged drug trafficker was on Sanwo-Olu team

The head of media committee for Babajide Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organisation, Olusesan Daini has said Funke Phillips was on the committee during the campaign.

He told The Guardian on Friday that Phillips, accused by an ex-BBC Pidgin journalist Ruona Meyer of intellectual property theft, came to work for the campaign through a consultant.

Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor-elect, was the governorship candidate All Progressives Congress in 2019 elections.

Daini initially denied knowing “any Mrs Funke Phillips,”.

There is a plot to cripple me politically – Gov. Okorocha

IMO State Governor Rochas Okorocha believes he was denied the Certificate of Return as the senator for the Imo West Senatorial District to cripple him politically ahead of 2023.

He also said that the “gang-up” against his preferred governorship candidate in the March 9 election, Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance (AA), was part of the grand plot.

Tinubu seeks adequate treatment for survivors

All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday urged the Lagos State government to ensure adequate treatment for the survivors of the collapsed building.

100 senators-elect, 338 Reps. get Certificates of Return

EXCEPT the court decides otherwise, Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha will not represent the Imo West Senatorial District when the Ninth National Assembly is inaugurated on June 8.

He was not among the senators presented with Certificates of Return (CoRs) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja yesterday.

INEC refuses to recognise Gov. Okorochas as Senator-elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made good it’s word by not recognizing the election of Rochas Okorocha into the Senate.

Imo state governor’s name was missing among the Senate-elect who received their certificate of returns at the International Conference Centre Thursday.

Okorocha was said to have won one of the senatorial seats in Imo state.

Consequently, INEC placed an embargo on his victory at the poll.

Fresh elections to hold in 124 polling units in Bayelsa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rescheduled election in at least 124 polling units in disputed areas in the state.

Head of Voter Education and Publicity in the state, Mr Wilfred Ifogah, listed the affected areas as Southern Ijaw, Ogbia and Brass local governments.

The Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) had raised the alarm that elections did not take place in several parts of Bayelsa as the elections were highly militarised and characterised by intimidation, ballot snatching and manipulation of results.
