$904,000 worth of drugs uncovered in kids’ toy boxes

German Federal Police discovered drugs worth 904,000 dollars hidden in 52 Lego boxes in a car they checked on the A3 motorway near the Dutch border.

According to the police, the drugs weighed 83 kilogrammes.

The two people in the car were arrested, investigators said on Tuesday.

The women, aged 22 and 24, were caught on April 10.

They had 51 kilos of ecstasy and about 32 kilos of amphetamines stashed between the 52 identical Lego boxes.

The two Dutch women are being investigated for violations of the narcotics act.

Corruption breeds terrorism, says INTERPOL scribe

The Secretary-General of INTERPOL, Jurgen Stock on Monday met with the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu to explore partnership on how to fight corruption.

A day after Tiger Woods won his fifth Masters title and 15th major tournament in a rousing resurrection of his career, President Trump said Monday he would give him an honor almost as exclusive as a green jacket from Augusta National Golf Club: the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Breaking: EFCC lays siege in Court to arrest Ajumogobia

A mild drama is brewing within the premises of Ikeja High Court,  as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have laid seige in a bid to arrest a former Federal High Court Judge,  Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia .

This followed the striking out of the 30 count charge suit against Justice Ajumogibia by Justice Hakeem Oshodi.

Ajumogibia is facing charges bordering on corruption and abuse of office by a public officer.

UTME: 50 exam contractors arrested

FIFTY professional examination writers have been arrested in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said yesterday.

The board said the impostors were arrested nationwide following its intelligence gathering mechanism.

JAMB’s spokesperson Fabian Benjamin made the revelation in the agency’s weekly bulletin.

Fabian identified some of the professional examination writers as Masters’ degree holders, postgraduate and undergraduate students of various tertiary institutions in the country.

He said the professional writers connived with owners and operators of Computer Based Test Centres (CBTs) to carry out the crime by engaging in multiple registrations where the

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has scheduled judgment for Thursday in the trial of the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen.

Court orders INEC to allow Adelabu, APC inspect material

The Election Petition Tribunal in Oyo State on Monday ordered INEC to allow Mr Adebayo Adelabu, governorship candidate of the APC, to inspect election materials used in the March 9 Governorship Election.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Makinde winner of the governorship election after polling 515,621 votes to defeat Adelabu who had 357,982.

Other respondents in the case are the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Cable, transformer theft to attract 10-year jail term

If the Senate adopts the recommendations of its Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy, the theft of electricity cable and transformer may attract 10-year jail term.

The committee also recommended a jail term of seven years or a fine of N2million or both if anyone connects or disconnects electric wire to, either the electricity meter or to the public power supply lines.

The 10-year jail term is without an option of fine for offenders.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said any motorists caught creating additional lanes and or driving against traffic on the Lagos-lbadan Expressway will be booked for a psychiatric check.
