Ihedioha has wasted over ₦70 billion in 3 months – Okorocha

Immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has accused his successor, Emeka Ihedioha of being arrogant, anti-masses and mismanaging over 48 billion he left behind barely three months in office. In this interview with STANLEY UZOARU,  he also spoke on the alleged attacks on his family and government properties recovered from his wife as well as daughter’s shops. He also attacked his party, the APC for lying against him before President Buhari during the last general elections.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has mandated a branch of his organisation in Japan to ascertain that the alleged impostor, Jubril Al-Sudani who is believed to be President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, “is arrested and handed over to the authorities when he sets foot on Japanese soil.”

The purported president is scheduled to be in Japan on Sunday according to an earlier report by Daily Post, Nigeria.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during its final submissions before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) said Atiku Abubakar and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the petition that it transmitted results electronically and abandoned its pleadings by not calling any witnesses is “worthless.”

“This is a worthless petition. INEC did not abandon its pleadings. It only extracted salient evidence from their (petitioners) witnesses,” INEC’s lawyer, Yunus Usman (SAN) said on Wednesday.

“We urge the court to dismiss this petition, which was meant to test the water with two legs, and they are now falling.”

South-East Governors Forum has warned the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, against any other attack on South-East leaders when they travel abroad.In a statement signed by the chairman of the forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, the governors threatened to ensure his repatriation to Nigeria.

Cameroon anglophone separatist leader gets life sentence

A military court in Cameroon on Tuesday handed a life sentence to the head of the country’s anglophone separatist movement, Julius Sisiku Ayuk Tabe, and nine of his followers, lawyers said.The 10 were convicted of charges including “terrorism and secession”, the state’s lawyer, Martin Luther Achet, told AFP.

The sentence was confirmed by a lawyer for the separatists, Joseph Fru, who condemned what he called a “parody of justice”.

The defendants refused to recognise the right of the military tribunal in Yaounde to try them.

Their lawyers have yet to say whether they will file an appeal.

FG demands prosecution of Ekweremadu’s attackers

The Federal Government has called on German authorities to unmask the identity of and try the Aug. 17 attackers of Sen. Ike Ekweremadu  in Nuremberg, Germany.

In a statement issued on Monday by Nigerian Embassy in Berlin, the embassy also demanded that the attackers be tried in accordance with German laws.

The embassy stated that investigations would help identify the attackers with a view to bringing them to justice.
