Federal Government’s Domestic Debt Rises By ₦1.26tn

The Federal Government’s domestic debt outstanding rose by ₦1.26tn to ₦13.41tn as of June 2019, over the figure for the corresponding period of 2018.

This was disclosed in the Central Bank of Nigeria’s half-year report on Federal Government’s domestic debt.

Part of the report read, “The total domestic debt outstanding at the end of June 2019 stood at ₦13.41tn, representing an increase of ₦1.26tn or 10.38 percent, over ₦12.15tn in the corresponding period of 2018.”

The Bauchi Field Office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the European Union, has distributed motorcycles worth $1.856 million to 323 PHCs.

They also provided a mobile storage unit worth $14,000, built capacity of 3500 health workers on different primary healthcare services, as well as provided medical supplies, equipment to boost healthcare in Bauchi State.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has deducted a total of ₦499,175,535,097 from the accounts of 12 banks under its supervision, over their failure to meet the September 30, 2019 deadline it had stipulated for them to maintain 60 percent loan-to-deposit (LDR) ratio.

The banks are Citibank, FirstBank of Nigeria, FBNQuest Merchant, First City Monument Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Jaiz Bank, Keystone Bank and Rand Merchant Bank.
