Bayelsa: Party Members Disrupt INEC Stakeholders Meeting

Two elders loyal to the two contending political parties in the November 16, 2019 gubernatorial election in Bayelsa, almost engaged each other in a fisticuff at a stakeholders meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yenagoa.

Consequently, the meeting ended abruptly as Chairman of the Bayelsa Elders Forum (BEF), Francis Doukpolagha, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyalist and representative of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman at the event, Dennis Otitio, engaged each other in a war of words that almost led to a fight.

Dapo Abiodun To Demolish Amosun’s ₦1.2b Model School

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has disclosed his plan to demolish one of the 26 model schools constructed by the administration of immediate past governor, Ibikunle Amosun, for being “structurally defective”.

The governor insisted that his administration’s decision to demolish the school located in Ilaro area was not to witch-hunt the former governor but to prevent looming disaster.

Governor Abiodun made the disclosure at a town hall meeting with stakeholders from Ogun West Senatorial District. The meeting was organised by the state government for the people of the district to contribute to the 2020 budget.

James Hope College (JHC), Agbor, Delta State, a coeducational initiative of the Jim Ovia Foundation, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with American International School, Lagos (AISL).
