South East Youths Urge Buhari To Ban Vehicles Importation

A coalition of southeast Youth Leaders has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to ban the importation of new vehicles and cars into the country and to support Innoson Motors the only indigenous vehicle manufacturer in the country.

The organization said that following the policy of the Federal Government, the only locally-produced goods should be patronised in order to strengthen the economy.

2020 Budget: FG To Reintegrate Ex-Militants With ₦65bn

The Federal Government has earmarked ₦65 billion for the reintegration of ex-militants under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Also, ₦37.83 billion and ₦80.88 billion were allocated to the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and the  Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) respectively.

This was even as the government allocated ₦110 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in every geopolitical zone in Nigeria.

The Senate says it is probing the award of Water Hyacinth Emergency and Desilting Contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from 2017 to 2019.

Chairman Senate Committee on Public Accounts, Sen. Matthew Urhoghide made this known when the Director, Special Duties of the NDDC, Nosakhare Agbongiasede appeared before the committee in Abuja on Thursday.
