The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), wednesday described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as a disorganised party.

This is coming as a faction of the ruling APC in the state has formally announced the suspension of the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, from the party over alleged anti-party activities.

Many Sustain Injuries As PDP, APC Members Clash In Bayelsa

Some members of the People’s Democratic Party were attacked on Wednesday by allegedly by members of the All Progressives Congress at King Koko Square in Nembe, Bayelsa State.
The attack was said to be a retaliation of an alleged attack by PDP member on APC members on their way to their party rally at Igbogene town in Yenago LGA in the State.

Violent clashes among suspected political thugs have increased in the state in recent weeks as voters go to the poll on Saturday to elect a new governor.

100 Bag First Class In Uniben – Vice Chancellor

The outgoing Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Faraday. F. Orunmwense, has announced that 100 students would be awarded first class degrees honours during this year’s convocation ceremony of the institution.
He disclosed this to newsmen at the pre-45th convocation/49th Founder’s Day briefing ceremony of the institution.

He said 10, 198 graduands would be awarded various diplomas and degrees from the university and that 100 among them will be graduating with first class honours, 2,274 with second class upper, 4,011 second class lower, 592 with third class while non graduated with  a pass.

Venezuela Ex-Intel Chief Missing Ahead Of US Extradition

Venezuela’s former military intelligence chief has gone missing in Spain just days after a court-approved a request for his extradition to the United States on drug trafficking charges, police said Wednesday.

“They are currently looking for him,” said a spokeswoman for Spain’s national police, referring to General Hugo Armando Carvajal who served as intelligence chief under the late Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

Judicial sources said police had gone to Carvajal’s house in Madrid to arrest him after Friday’s court decision but could not find him.

We’ll Appeal Abuja Court Ruling – APC

 All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it has directed its lawyers to appeal the Abuja Federal High Court ruling on the candidacy of the deputy-governor in the forthcoming Bayelsa November 16 election, Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo.

The APC said the judgement delivered on Tuesday cannot stand the scrutiny of a superior court.

According to the publicity secretary of Bayelsa APC, Doifie Buokoribo, the court did not consider the weight of evidence before it in delivering the judgement.

Court Halts Lagos PDP Election

A Lagos High Court, which was presided over by Justice T.A.O Oyekanmi Abdullai, yesterday gave an order stopping the conduct of the proposed “special election” by the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The election was scheduled for today. But the court ordered that the status quo be maintained until hearing in the substantive case.

The Senate came under fire yesterday for proposing the Hate Speech Prohibition Bill, which seeks to criminalise the offence with death as a penalty.
