President Donald Trump on Friday tweeted an attack against the former US ambassador to Ukraine while she was in the middle of testifying in his impeachment probe, prompting her to complain she was being intimidated.

Trump’s furious tweet came as Marie Yovanovitch testified in the House of Representatives about her abrupt firing from her post in Ukraine following an alleged smear campaign led by the president’s personal attorney, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed not to stop the group’s international diplomatic onslaught.

Mr Kanu has been propagating IPOB’s agenda through Radio Biafra in London and visits to foreign parliaments.

WAEC Releases Nov/Dec 2019 Examination Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says the results of 9,457 candidates who sat for the Second Series of its West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for (private candidates) are to be investigated before they would be released.

The council’s Head of National Office, Mr Olu Adenipekun, said this at a news conference to announce the results of candidates who participated in the 2019 WASSCE (Private).

According to him, the number of these candidates, representing 9.74 per cent are reported to have been involved in one form of examination malpractice or the other.

Police in London on Friday said they were investigating an assault after a Hong Kong minister fell to the ground as she was jostled by demonstrators.

Justice secretary Teresa Cheng had been due to give a lecture at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in Bloomsbury Square, central London, on Thursday evening.

But the CIArb said the event was cancelled because “whilst entering the building (Cheng) was assaulted by a crowd”. It added: “As a result, she sustained an injury to her arm.”

Amazon on Thursday challenged the awarding of a $10 billion Pentagon cloud computing contract to Microsoft, alleging “unmistakable bias” in the process.

The 10-year contract for the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure program, better known as JEDI, ultimately will see all military branches sharing information in a system boosted by artificial intelligence.

Just In: Appeal Court Affirms Okowa’s Election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Friday, dismissed the appeal filed by candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Great Ogboru against the election of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State.

A five man panel of the appellate court led by Justice Uzo Ndukwe-Anyanwu, dismissed the appeal on the grounds that it was “completely devoid of merit”.

The court accordingly upheld the decision of the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed the declaration of Okowa as lawful winner of the March 9 governorship election in Delta State.

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that there would be no interference in Saturday’s election in Bayelsa and Kogi states.

Atletico Madrid forward, Diego Costa is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a slipped disc.

‘The club’s medical staff have done some scans on Diego Costa to assess the neck problems he has been suffering from in the last few days. Those tests have revealed that the striker is suffering from a slipped disc,’ said a statement from Atletico.
