NNPC: Fuel Supply Not Affected Despite Lagos Pipeline Fire

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Thursday reported an oil pipeline fire outbreak along Atlas Cove-Mosimi Pipeline, part of the System 2B pipeline in Baruwa Swamp area of Lagos. The corporation said preliminary reports of the incident indicated that the fire outbreak might have been caused by an act of vandalism by suspected oil thieves. The corporation, in conjunction with the Lagos State Government, has contained the fire and repair works have commenced which will lead to speedy restoration of the pipeline operations.

Losses in ACCESS (-2.7%), FBNH (-2.2%) and GUARANTY (-9.1%) have seen market capitalisation fell ₦12.0bn to ₦12.9trn at the close of trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday. Consequently, the development dragged the All-Share Index (ASI) down 9bps to 26,913.70 points while year to date (YTD) loss worsened to -14.4%.

Saudi Aramco Raises $25.6bn In Largest-Ever IPO

Saudi Arabia’s state oil company Aramco launched its initial stock offering on Thursday, pricing at the high end of the target range and raising $25.6 billion, two sources told AFP.

That sum raised by the oil giant surpasses the $25 billion raised by the Chinese online trading group Alibaba when it debuted on Wall Street in 2014.

Explosion Rocks Ebonyi School

An object suspected to be an improvised explosive device has exploded at Glory Land High School,Azugwu, in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

 

The device which exploded during break hour, Thursday, according to sources within the school, shattered the left arm of an SS 2 student simply identified as Chibuike while undisclosed number of students sustained various degree of injuries.
