Britain voted on Thursday in a deeply divisive election that posed a historic choice between an imminent split from the European Union or another referendum that could scrap the entire Brexit process.

Chile Confirms Finding Human Remains From Missing Plane

Chile confirmed Thursday that human remains and debris found by search ships are from a military plane reported missing with 38 people aboard, and the chances of finding survivors is “practically impossible.”

“The condition of the plane wreckage that was found makes it practically impossible that there are survivors from this air accident,” Air Force chief Arturo Merino told a news conference in the southern port of Punta Arenas.

Jersey City Shooters Driven By Anti-Semitism: US Prosecutor

A recent shooting at a kosher deli in a New York suburb was fueled by “anti-Semitism” and a hatred of police, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said Thursday.

“We believe the suspects held views that reflected hatred of Jewish people as well as hatred of law enforcement officers,” he told journalists.

CPS Yet To Be Implemented In 11 States

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has said that 11 states in the country are yet to embrace the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) due to resistance from labour unions and state government.

Mr. Babatunde Philips, Head, States Operation Department, PenCom, disclosed this at the 2019 Journalists Workshop in Benin, Edo State, adding that only 25 out of the 36 states in Nigeria have enacted the CPS law.

Google, IOM To Train, Empower 93 Returnees In Edo, Lagos

Google Nigeria has entered into partnership with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to conduct IOM’s first Digital Skills Training for returnees and potential migrants in Edo State and Lagos State.  

The training has, however, drawn 93 participants, including returning migrants, interested in setting up small-scale businesses as well as mentorship and job placement opportunities. The one-day training consisted of hands-on sessions on how to build participants’ online presence and improve their search campaigns, job-seeking skills online.
