Border Closure: Nigerian Govt Speaks On Date Of Reopening

Nigeria’s government has said there is no fixed date for the reopening of the country’s land borders, which were closed in August this year.

President Muhammadu Buhari had explained that the borders were closed, to prevent smuggling of banned items.

Speaking with journalists on Monday, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mariam Katagum, stated that a date for the borders to be reopened would be fixed after a joint patrol team set up by Nigeria and its neighbours submit its recommendations.

Lagos Govt Seals Quilox Club

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed off Club Quilox at Victoria Island, Lagos.

NAN gathered that Quilox was sealed for noise pollution and traffic congestion.

Sad Xmas For Traders As Fire Destroys Onitsha Market

Mysterious fire has razed goods worth millions of naira at yam, hotel, carpentry, and foam sections of Bridgehead market, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

An eyewitnesses said that fire started at about 8.30 a.m when the traders were opening their shops and raged for about an hour before the traders themselves controlled it.
