Nigeria’s Security Architecture Has Failed- Ahmad Lawan

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, on Monday reviewed the current security architecture of the country and demanded an urgent restructuring to make a way for intervention from other tiers of government .

Lawan, in an interview with journalists in Abuja , also welcomed the recent regional and states initiatives to tackle the unfortunate security challenges in the country .
He said the Senate would summon the heads of the various security agencies in the country as soon as plenary resumes this week to work out a realistic arrangement that could adequately tackle the menace.

Oyo: My Life In Danger – ALGON Chairman, Abass-Aleshinloye

Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass- Aleshinloye, on Monday, raised the alarm over alleged threat to his life.

This is in the wake of the assumption of office of Local Government Chairmen across the 33 Local Governments and 35 Local Council Development Areas in the State.

Abass-Aleshinloye made this declaration via a statement made available to DAILY POST, Monday evening.

DAILY POST recalls that majority of local government chairmen who were sacked by Governor Seyi Makinde last year resumed their various offices today, though, there were reports of violence in some councils.

Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works and Housing, has said that state governments that desire roads must be prepared to pay compensation to citizens whose lands enter road construction plans.

The Bauchi State government, on Monday, announced the sudden resignation of Alhaji Abubakar Kari, Chief of Staff to Gov. Bala Mohammed.

Dr. Ladan Salihu has been appointed as replacement.

Until his recent appointment, Salihu, a one time Director-General of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), was the Commissioner for Information in the state.

Imo: APGA Expels Senator Araraume For Anti-Party Activities

The caretaker committee chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Imo State, John Iwuala, has said that the party has expelled Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

Iwuala said that the senator who represented Imo North between 1999 and 2007 and was the APGA governorship candidate during the 2019 election in Imo State was guilty of alleged anti-party activities.
