The Niger State governor and chairman of North Central Governors Forum, (NCGF) Abubakar Sani Bello,and  Sani Musa, representing Niger East Senatorial District, have hailed President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive authorising airstrike on bandits terrorising some  communities in the state.

The Secretary of the Imo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon Nze Ray Emeana says that there is no crisis in the state party, insisting that the party has not lost any substantial personality.

This was even as he alleged that the eight PDP state legislators who defected to the All Progressives Congress were lured with the promise of ₦50m  and two plots of lands in Owerri by the state government which he said is desperate to have a majority in the state legislative Assembly.

2023: PDP Rejects Name Change, Set To Review 2019 Polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ruled out the possibility of changing its name, ahead of the 2023 general election.

The spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, said this was part of decisions reached at the party’s 88th National Executive Committee ( NEC) in Abuja, yesterday.

“The party insists that the PDP brand is still the best in the political firmament of our nation and as such, those canvassing for a change of name should forget it because we remain the Peoples Democratic Party.”

A faction of the ‎All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo South, has warned the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, not to hold any rally in the south.

‎The warning is coming on the heels of a rally last Saturday at Auchi, where Oshiomhole received over 30,000 defectors from the People’s Democratic Party into the APC.

When All Hope Is Lost In The Supreme Court

Two weeks ago on January 14, the Supreme Court nullified the governorship election of Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo.

Highly controversial, the judgment catapulted Mr. Uzodinma, who during the March 9, 2019 election had pulled 96,458 votes to settle at fourth place. Buhari Orders NAF Ariel Bombardment Of Zamfara, Niger

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd . ), has ordered the deployment of fighter jets against kidnappers, bandits and cattle rustlers said to be terrorising communities in Niger State.
The communities are situated around the Dogon Gona forest, which serves as a hideout for the attackers.
