We Want SARS – Northern Governors Declare

Governors from the Northern part of the country have rejected disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

According to them, the police unit has been useful in the fight against insecurity in the region.

The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, who is the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) made this known to reporters on Thursday after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, has joined the End SARS campaign going on across Nigeria.

He tweeted the hashtag at 9:40pm Nigerian time on Wednesday.

EU Agrees Russia Sanctions Over Navalny Poisoning

The EU on Wednesday agreed to impose sanctions on six people and one entity over the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny with a Novichok nerve agent, diplomats told AFP.

Ambassadors from the 27 EU countries approved sanctions after France and Germany proposed measures last week, saying Russia was responsible for the poisoning.
