President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday reaffirmed that his administration recognizes the democratic rights of the Nigerian youths to peaceful protests.
Buhari who urged the youths to beware of anarchists who may hijack their gatherings for selfish motives stated this when he received the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, at the State House, Abuja, on Monday.
Briefing the State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, the minister said Buhari has advised the youths to always be on alert so that miscreants would not take advantage of their genuine intention.

The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said the ongoing protest against police brutality has a hidden agenda.
APC Acting National Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, made the remark during an interview on BBC Hausa Service.
Buni, who is the Governor of Yobe State also warned that the ongoing protest may lead to anarchy.
He lamented that hoodlums are using the protest to terrorize Nigerians.

Vehicular movements between Minna and Abuja were obstructed for several hours on Monday as the protest by youths under the aegies of the Coalition of Northern Youth Groups entered its second day.
Many commercial and articulated vehicles coming from the southern part of the country and going to Abuja could not continue their journey through the Minna city gate while those traveling to Kontagora in the northern part of the state suffered similar fate.

According to him, the curfew was due to the incidents of vandalism and attacks carried out by hoodlums who hijacked the End SARS protests.
