Stop Politicizing Security Issues – APC To Nigerians

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised Nigerians to stop politicising the issues of security and efforts of security services, particularly the Armed Forces, to keep Nigeria safe.

The party gave the advice in a statement signed by Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, on Friday in Abuja, while celebrating with the military officers on the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Nigeria To Build Six New Correctional Centers

The Federal Government on Saturday said it plans to build six modern custodial facilities in the six geo-political zones in the country in the months ahead.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, stated this while inspecting the ongoing Model Maximum Security Custodial facility project, Janguza, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.

Mr. Aregbesola said the project was part of programs initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari to reform the correctional service.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, (SAN) has said that the extended Federal Government Special Public Works Programme of 774,00 jobs opportunities to Nigerians was part of deliberate efforts and conscious strategies to address the ballooning population of unemployed youths and rising insecurity in some parts of the country.

The Minister stated this on Saturday in Birnin-Kebbi during the flag off of the programme, noted that the employment opportunities as part of strategies adopted to fast-track the achievement of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (2017-2020).

Incoming US President, Joe Biden on Thursday announced a $1.9 trillion emergency package to combat the coronavirus pandemic and boost economic recovery.

The World Health Organization’s emergency committee met, two weeks ahead of schedule, on Thursday to discuss the urgent threat from rapidly-spreading new coronavirus variants.

The Republic of Congo will hold its presidential election on March 21, public television said Thursday, with President Denis Sassou Nguesso, who has been in power for a total of 36 years set to fly his party’s flag in the elections.
