Herdsmen: Compensate Farmers For Losses, MURIC Advices FG

A Muslim group known as the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has urged the Federal Government to compensate farmers whose crops were destroyed by herdsmen’s cows across the country.

The director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, who made this plea in a statement suggested that the compensation could be by installment or any which way the government deems it fit.

According to him, the MURIC now has concrete evidence of the culpability of herdsmen, including video clips in which cows destroyed farms belonging to members of the organization.

At Last, US Backs Okonjo-Iweala For DG, WTO Job

The United States has at last backed Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for the Director-General position at the World Trade Organisation, WTO.

This followed the stepping down of South Korea’s Yoo Myung-hee from the contest on Friday.

The US had blocked Okonjo-Iweala’s candidacy for the DG WTO job back in October after all member countries endorsed her candidacy.

The Federal Government on Thursday, disbursed ₦27 billion to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of the MSMEs Survival Fund Scheme.
