The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Muhammed, has lamented that it is a pity that some states in the Southwest region of Nigeria don’t want to accommodate other tribes especially the Fulani.

He was reacting to the recent development in some states in the Southwest where herdsmen were given quit notices and asked to leave.

The governor was speaking as a Special Guest of Honour during the launch of the inaugural edition of the Bauchi Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ’s magazine titled “Correspondents’ Watch” on Thursday.

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has tackled his Kaduna Counterpart, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, over his knowledge of security matters saying that he is either ‘misunderstood’ or ‘ill-informed’ on the insecurity affecting the north.

Just a few days after a widely publicized speech on the state of insecurity in the nation, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has once again called on President Muhammadu Buhari to avert the country’s drift to anarchy and disintegration by acting swiftly to curb the menace of Fulani herdsmen.

Governor Yahaya Bello has appointed Mrs. Hannah Onyinoyi Odiyo as the new Head of Civil Service of Kogi State.

Mrs Odiyo takes over from Mrs Deborah Ogunmola.

Until her appointment, Mrs. Odiyo was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Kogi State.

Her appointment was confirmed in a statement issued to journalists in Lokoja on Thursday, by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade.
