2023 Presidency: We’ve Not Endorsed Any Aspirant – Afenifere

The Pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Wednesday, distanced itself from any purported endorsement of any aspirant for the 2023 presidential election. 

The clarification became necessary following a viral statement by the leader of South West Agenda, (SWAGA) Senator Dayo Adeyeye, where he claimed that his group secured the support of Afenifere for its candidate during a visit to Pa Ruben Fasoranti, erstwhile Afenifere leader on Tuesday.

FG Issue Licences To 20 New Private Universities

The Federal of Nigeria on Thursday Government presented provisional licences to the 20 new private universities which were recently approved by Federal Executive Council.

The licenses, which were presented to the universities on Thursday in Abuja, bring the total number of private universities in the west African country to 99.

On the other hand, the total number of universities in Nigeria is now 193.

Recall that the Federal Executive Council in February 2021, approved the establishment of 20 new private universities.
