The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House of Representatives has threatened legal action against the Federal Government over its ban of Twitter operations in Nigeria.

Hamza Al-Mustapha, Chief Security Officer to late Nigerian military ruler, Sani Abacha, says the elites in Nigeria are killing the country.

Al-Mustapha also declared that the ongoing amendment of the 1999 constitution will not work.

He told the Newsmen that the citizens are not being carried along in the process.

‘Constitutional amendments should be given time and should not be seen carrying the opinions of a few elites abandoning the majority’, he said.

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa, has unveiled plans to implement anti-corruption studies in school curriculum as part of measures aimed at preventing corruption in the country.

Over 100 Killed In Burkina Faso In Deadliest Attack Since 2015

At least 100 civilians were killed overnight in the deadliest attack in Burkina Faso since jihadist violence erupted in the country in 2015, security and local sources disclosed yesterday.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that the attack occurred during the night of Friday to Saturday when ‘armed individuals staged an incursion’ into the northern town of Solhan.

NDDC: Tompolo Withdraws 7-Day Ultimatum To FG

Former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Government Ekpemupolo said he has agreed to withdraw the seven-day ultimatum he issued to the Federal Government, over its failure to constitute a substantive Board for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Ekpemupolo, who is popularly known as Tompolo, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

He added that the ‘reluctantly’ withdrawal of the ultimatum, followed several appeals from Nigerians, including Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, and in the interest of peace in the troubled region and the country at large.

Those Seeking To Void Constitution Should Go To Court – Omo-Agege

Deputy President of the Nigeria Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege has told South-south representatives who requested the abolishment of the 1999 Constitution to approach the courts.

Some south-south representatives had approached the Constitution Review Committee to demand that a brand new constitution be developed and the old one trashed.

The representatives of five states from the South-South under the auspices of BRADEC United Assembly also asked for a new constitution tailored for the Nigerian people.

But Omo-Agege said only a court of competent jurisdiction has the power to decide on a fresh constitution as the committee lacks powers to do so.
