Egypt Upholds Death Penalty For 12 Brotherhood Members

An Egyptian court has upheld death sentences which was previously issued to 12 Muslim Brotherhood members, including two senior leaders of the outlawed Islamist movement, a judicial official has disclosed.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that the court of cassation also reduced sentences for 31 other Brotherhood members, in the trial relating to a 2013 mass killing by security forces at an Islamist sit-in, to life in prison, the official told reporters.

Bandits Kill 12 In Sokoto, Block Highway In Zamfara

At least twelve persons have been killed by armed bandits in Maikujera in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State after a violent attack in the area. 

In a press statement sighted by Africa Daily News yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, said the incident happened around 4:30 pm on Thursday last week.

The statement noted that twelve people were killed by the notorious armed bandits.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied a US media report that insinuated that his country has concluded plans to deliver an advanced satellite system to Iran that will vastly improve its spying capabilities.
