ECOWAS Appeals For Joint Effort In Tackling Mali Crisis

Chairman of its Parliament’s Standing Committee on Political Affairs, Peace, Security and African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), Edwin Melvin Snowe (Jnr) has appealed to West African leaders to join hands together to restore normalcy in Mali.

The group belives that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission should be left alone to handle the Mali crisis without any form of external interference.

According to him, this would help the legislature to adequately comprehend the happenings in the landlocked West African nation and proffer a way out.

The Chairman of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has disclosed that he has been receiving death threats from high profile Nigerians over his strong stance against corruption in the country.

Bawa, who spoke on Channels TV Sunrise Daily monitored by Africa Daily News, pointed out that he was in New York last week and that a very senior citizen received a phone call from somebody that is not even under investigation.
