How Zimbabwe’s Army Commander Died Of Cancer

Zimbabwe’s army commander, Lt.-Gen. Edzayi Chimonyo has been reported dead after succumbing to cancer, an official presidential spokesman has revealed.

The death is a huge blow given that the army holds a huge influence in Zimbabwean politics.

In November 2017, the army stepped in to oust the late Robert Mugabe and pave way for incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
